BetaLean HP

BetaLean HP Information

BetaLean HP is made by EAS, and is marketed as the "next generation in supplementation to support

your metabolism and rid yourself of unwanted body fat". Betalean Hp ads also refer to a Precision Release Matrix that supposedly delivers 80% of the active constituents initially and the remainder over the next two hours. There is no information on the pharmacology of the proprietal Betalean Hp Precision Release Matrix.

BetaLean HP works by inducing thermogenesis (the production of heat), which speeds up your metabolism and burns calories. It also has an appetite-suppressing effect, so you feel less hungry and therefore eat less.

BetaLean HP uses ephedrine/caffeine stack with several additional ingredients. While there is no aspirin or willow bark in this formulation, it does contain L-tyrosine, alpha lipoic acid, naringin and Coleus forskohlii.

Thus, Trim Spa works on two fronts:

- thermogenesis: 'speeding up' you metabolism, and making you burn more calories

- appetite suppression: making you eat less, and forcing the organism to mobilise the supplies it already posseses - ie. use up fat.

BetaLean HP Ingredients and Composition

How Does BetaLean HP Work?

Ephedrine in Betalean Hp

Ephedrine is the primary fat-burning chemical in the Ephedra sinica plant, from which it gets its name. Also known as ma huang, this plant has a long history of usage in Asian countries for the treatment of asthma and other bronchial conditions. A related chemical, pseudoephedrine, is also found in the plant and is an ingredient in many cold and flu remedies.

Ephedrine is a stimulant that works on the adrenergic receptors of the central nervous system. It has been shown to increase the level of dopamine, which is a precursor to both epinephrine and norepinephrine, which are vital neurotransmitters. Dopamine is also an important neurotransmitter around the hypothalamus, an area of the brain that is important for body arousal. Unlike caffeine, which exerts many of its benefits in muscle tissue, ephedrine appears to work primarily on the central nervous system. Betalean Hp thus works on them both.

Ephedrine is an effective fat burner on its own, and when it is combined with caffeine (as in Betalean Hp), the effects are even greater. While the reasons for this are still not known, it is thought that caffeine has a "permissive" action on ephedrine, lowering the amounts needed to achieve its physiological effects. In other words, caffeine potentiates ephedrine's effect. BetaLean HP contains approximately the same 10:1 ratio used in the clinical trials that showed such positive synergistic effects with this combination.

Ephedrine inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine, a hormone secreted by the medulla of the adrenal glands, that acts as a neurotransmitter. The sympathetic nervous system functions in response to short-term stress; hence norepinephrine increases the heart rate as well as blood pressure. Other actions of norepinephrine include increased glycogenolysis (the conversion of glycogen to glucose) in the liver, increased lipolysis (the conversion of fats to fatty acids) in adipose (fat) tissue, and relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle to open up the air passages to the lungs. All of these actions represent a mobilization of the body's resources in order to meet the stressful challenge; such a response is often termed the 'flight or fight' syndrome.

Basically, the ECA stack in Betalean Hp keeps your body in 'combat' mode for extended periods of time, facilitating weight loss.

Caffeine in Betalean Hp

There are two caffeine sources in BetaLean HP: green tea extract and caffeine anhydrous (pharmaceutical-grade caffeine). There is no difference in the caffeine of these two substances - caffeine is caffeine. They do have some other differences, however.

Green tea contains potent antioxidant compounds called polyphenols. There are four primary polyphenols in green tea. While all four appear to have protective value, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) occurs in the greatest amounts and has the strongest benefits. EGCG is an antioxidant that is several times more potent than vitamin E. It also prolongs the life of norepinephrine, which triggers thermogenesis. As a result, EGCG in Betalean Hp keeps the thermogenic process going for a longer period of time, boosting your metabolic rate and facilitating fat loss. (Betalean HP contains 150 mg of polyphenols. The amount of epigallocatechin gallate is not specified.) However, as far as fat burning is concerned, the primary active ingredient in green tea is caffeine.

Pharmaceutical-grade caffeine is pure caffeine. It is refined to eliminate any other nutrients that may have existed in the raw material it was taken from.

Caffeine is rapidly absorbed by the body and remains in circulation for more than seven hours. Plasma concentrations reach a peak one hour after it is consumed. It is then slowly metabolized, with a half-life of four to six hours.

Caffeine has been shown to dramatically increase free fatty-acid levels, providing the body with a fuel source that it can use instead of the glycogen stored in your liver and muscles. In fact, one (not related to Betalean Hp) study found a 100% increase in plasma free fatty acids after the subjects took 330 mg of caffeine.

At the same time, caffeine has been shown to increase adrenaline levels. This "fight-or-flight" hormone increases alertness and boosts energy levels, helping you to go through your daily tasks with less food intake. Most people experience a reduced appetite when their adrenaline levels are high, usually because they are focused on more essential tasks. With these two mechanisms, it's easy to understand why caffeine is used in Betalean Hp, and is important for jump-starting your weight-loss efforts.

L-tyrosine in Betalean Hp

L-tyrosine is the amino acid tyrosine in free (unbound) form. Tyrosine is an amino acid that plays an important role in human metabolism. It is the precursor to stimulatory neurotransmitters such as epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine and some of the thyroid hormones. All of these neurotransmitters and hormones play important roles in maintaining your metabolic rate. Logically, if you have a greater supply of these precursors, you can nudge your metabolism up a bit, helping you to shed unwanted pounds. Several studies have also shown that tyrosine increases the benefits of caffeine/ephedrine products, in part by curbing appetite. Tyrosine appears to reduce stress and fatigue as well, putting you in a better state of mind and making it easier to stick to your diet and exercise program. There is 500 mg of L-tyrosine in each serving of BetaLean HP.

Alpha lipoic acid Betalean Hp

Alpha lipoic acid is a coenzyme for a number of reactions in the body, including glycolysis (the conversion of blood sugar to energy). It promotes this process by supporting the activity of the mitochondria, which are the energy factories found within each cell. Although your body has the ability to make alpha lipoic acid on its own, supplementation (as in Betalean Hp) has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity. This means that the body's cells become more sensitive to the effects of insulin, requiring the pancreas to produce less of this hormone to bring blood-sugar levels down to normal. That, in turn, promotes the use of carbohydrates for fuel instead of being stored as body fat. BetaLean HP contains 100 mg of alpha lipoic acid per serving.

Naringin in Betalean Hp

Naringin is a flavonoid that prolongs the effects of caffeine. The substance that gives grapefruit its bitter taste, it slows the breakdown of caffeine into its metabolite, paraxanthine, in the liver. This extends caffeine's half-life (the time it takes for the chemical to decrease to half of its initial level in the blood) by 31%. Since caffeine potentiates the effects of ephedrine, having more caffeine in the blood for a longer period of time increases the total fat-burning effect. BetaLean HP contains 100 mg of naringin per serving.

Coleus forskohlii Betalean Hp

Coleus forskohlii is a plant that is part of the mint family. Native to the subtropical regions of India, Myanmar and Thailand, it is a spice and medicinal herb with a long history of usage in Ayurvedic medicine. The root of the plant contains the highest levels of the active ingredient, forskolin. Forskolin is a potent activator of the enzyme adenylate cyclase, which activates cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in the cell. Through a multi-step process, this increases the concentration of the active form of hormone-sensitive lipase, resulting in a greater release of fatty acids from the body's adipose tissues. Forskolin also has a thyroid-stimulating action, which contributes to thermogenesis and an increase in the basal metabolic rate. These properties allow it to enhance the effects of the ephedrine/caffeine combination. BetaLean HP contains 50 mg of Coleus forskohlii standardized to 10% forskolin in each serving.

While this article sheds light on the results you can expect from the individual ingredients in Betalean Hp, the only true way to experience Betalean Hp results is to actually try the product out yourself.

BetaLean HP Clinical Trials and Studies

BetaLean HP Experiences and Results

Like many other ephedrine/caffeine products on the market, BetaLean HP will induce thermogenesis (raise your body's temperature) and cause you to burn more calories. Other Betalean Hp results include: suppressing your appetite, preserving lean muscle mass, and increasing your energy levels. The naringin in Betalean Hp will increase the amount of time that caffeine stays in your system, helping to prolong its thermogenic benefits. Alpha lipoic acid increases insulin sensitivity, which may keep your insulin level lower and make it less likely to transport glucose to the fat cells. Coleus forskohlii promotes the release of fatty acids from your adipose tissues and stimulates your thyroid gland, thereby helping to boost the effectiveness of the ephedrine/caffeine combination.
