Disbesin Information

Brand Names: Adipex, Fastin, Ionamin

Generic Name: Phentermine

Other Common Names: Disbesin, Simpt, Phentrimine

Phentermine (Oral Phentermine Hydrochloride) is a generic form of Adipex. Phentermine is used as an appetite suppressant - a part of the Sympathomimetic family of appetite supressants, or it is more commonly known as a weight loss drug. However, as with any other weight loss drug, sustainable results can only be expected if the treatment is compounded with an overall diet plan for weight reduction. Also, an excercise program should be employed and behaviour therapy should be considered.

How To Take Disbesin and Disbesin Dosage and Administration

Phentermine is taken on an empty stomach, once daily, 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast. The tablet may not be chewed or crushed, but may be broken in half. The FDA advises that you should have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of at least 30 or more in order to take prescription weight loss medications. Since these medications have potential side effects, your potential health risks due to obesity need to outweigh the potential health risks of the side effects of the medications. These drugs are not to be taken by those with only a few pounds to lose. Most of these medications lose their effectiveness over time, so you must also follow a good diet and exercise program and learn behavior modification techniques while taking them.

Appropriate dose for adults under 60:

Appropriate dose for adults 60 and over: Consult your physician a reduced Phentermine dose may be appropriate

Symptoms of a possible overdose include:

Stomach cramps, Irregular heartbeat, Irregular blood pressure, Fever Confusion, Hallucinations, Restlessness, Tremor Panic.

An overdose of Phentermine is unlikely to be life-threatening. However, if an individual takes a much larger dose than recommended, call your Physician, emergency medical services (EMS), or the nearest poison control center immediately or 911 if needed.
