Buy Flax Seed Oil
Flaxseed oil, also known as linseed oil, contains the essential fatty acids of the omega 3 & 6 variety. Flaxseed helps maintain a healthy digestive function, & assists in the treatment or relief of flatulence.
The cells of the body depend upon the omega 3 fatty acids from which they build their cell membranes, which protect them. The minute organs within each body cell such as the mitochondria, which make energy and the ribosomes, which make the hormones are also made of these essential fatty acids. The brain is largely composed of fats called phospholipids, which are made from essential fatty acids. Thus these oils are essential for the function and structure of the brain and improve cognition, memory, moods and concentration.
Flaxseed is a plant-based food that contains lignans, another class of phytoestrogens. Flaxseed is available in both whole seed and seed oil forms. However, only the crushed or ground forms of flaxseed contain lignans.
Some Conditions Improved by Omega-3 Oils:
The recommended dosage for health maintenance is 1 tablespoon of Flax oil to 1/4 cup cottage cheese per 100 pounds body weight. Some sources recommend 3 tablespoons of oil a day and sometimes up to 6 for people very seriously ill. These dosages are just suggestions and in no way constitute medical advice.
If you do not liek the oily taste, try a high lignin oil and shake well before use. To some it tastes like hazel nuts. Of course if it tastes rancid or really bad then it probably is and you shouldn't use it. There are a number of things you can try to make the oil more palatable.
Be sure the oil you purchase is cold pressed, ie. never heated in the processing. Make sure the oil is refrigerated or frozen as much as possible. Heat of any kind destroys the value of the oil. We do not recommend the capsules as it takes approx. 14 of them to equal one tablespoon of oil and because they are often stored on warm shelves for periods of time.
