Metabolism
Metabolism Information
Metabolism is the the sum total of the chemical reactions that take place within each cell of a living organism and that provide energy for vital processes and for synthesizing new organic material. Basically, humans take in energy from their enviroment via food, and break it down for enery (ie. carbohydrates) and building material (ie. amino acids).
The trick about the metabolism is that that it's not a "furnace" that simply burns up everything that you take in. Rather, it is a combination of different routes for breaking down different substances - these paths are called metabolic pathways. And from here on out, it gets much more complex.
Can a Drug Replace Your Natural Metabolism?
Your metabolism is much too complicated an issue to be "replaced" by anything. Nor can a drug like Stacker-2 or the ECA Stack make it harder for the metabolism to function. However, certain substances can act as accelerants or retardants for the metabolism. The ECA stack, by means of inducing "thermogenesis", accelerates certain processes of the metabolism. Ephedrine inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine, a hormone secreted by the medulla of the adrenal glands, that acts as a neurotransmitter.
How Does Influencing the Metabolism help Weight Loss?
The sympathetic nervous system functions in response to short-term stress; hence norepinephrine increases the heart rate as well as blood pressure. Other actions of norepinephrine include increased glycogenolysis (the conversion of glycogen to glucose) in the liver, increased lipolysis (the conversion of fats to fatty acids; see fats and oils) in adipose (fat) tissue, and relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle to open up the air passages to the lungs. All of these actions represent a mobilization of the body's resources in order to meet the stressful challenge; such a response is often termed the "flight or fight" syndrome.
Basically, the ECA stack keeps your body in "combat" mode for extended periods of time, facilitating weight loss.
But careful - ephedrine is not for everyone, especially if you've had earlier health problems (liver, kidneys).
Does a Naturally Fast Metabolism prevent me from using such Drugs?
A naturally fast metabolism shouldn't matter, but DO monitor your pulse and blood pressure for drastic changes. Should they occur, or should you feel general malaise possibly accompanied by abnormal sweating - discontinue Stacker 2 or ECA Stack usage, and try an ephedra-free weight-loss and dieting drug.
