Nutrex Lipo-6
Nutrex Lipo-6 Information
Nutrex Lipo-6 is marketed as the first and only fat-burner which can be titled as the complete fat-burning formula that attacks all 6 fat receptors in the body needed to burn body fat as quickly as humanely possible. In the past, fat-burning formulas, have fallen short in stimulating ß1, ß2, ß3, alpha1, alpha2 and alpha3 fat receptors simultaneously. With Lipo-6 you can now attack body fat from all angles and experience a far greater overall fat loss than with any other fat-burning product on the market today. Next to activating a complete and thorough fat-burning process in your body, Nutrex Lipo-6 aims to increase energy levels and helps to control your appetite.
Thus, it works on two fronts:
- thermogenesis: 'speeding up' you metabolism, and making you burn more calories
- appetite suppression: making you eat less, and forcing the organism to mobilise the supplies it already posseses - ie. use up fat.
Nutrex Lipo-6 Ingredients and Composition
How Does Nutrex Lipo-6 Work?
Ephedrine
Ephedrine is a stimulant that works on the adrenergic receptors of the central nervous system. It has been shown to increase the level of dopamine, which is a precursor to both epinephrine and norepinephrine, which are vital neurotransmitters. Dopamine is also an important neurotransmitter around the hypothalamus, an area of the brain that is important for body arousal. Unlike caffeine, which exerts many of its benefits in muscle tissue, ephedrine appears to work primarily on the central nervous system.
Ephedrine inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine, a hormone secreted by the medulla of the adrenal glands, that acts as a neurotransmitter. The sympathetic nervous system functions in response to short-term stress; hence norepinephrine, whose levels are boosted by ephedrine, increases the heart rate as well as blood pressure. Other actions of norepinephrine include increased glycogenolysis (the conversion of glycogen to glucose) in the liver, increased lipolysis (the conversion of fats to fatty acids) in adipose (fat) tissue, and relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle to open up the air passages to the lungs. All of these actions represent a mobilization of the body's resources in order to meet the stressful challenge; such a response is often termed the "flight or fight" syndrome.
Basically, ephedrine keeps your body in "combat" mode for extended periods of time, facilitating weight loss through Nutrex Lipo-6.
Caffeine
Caffeine works by increasing free fatty-acid concentrations and adrenaline levels. This results in greater lipolysis (oxidation of fats for energy), which can drain your fat stores over time. This change in a muscle's utilization of energy substrates can have a profound effect on fat loss. Caffeine also heightens mental alertness, which can positively affect your motivation to exercise and create the caloric deficit needed to lose body fat.
Caffeine is rapidly absorbed by the body and remains in circulation for more than seven hours. Plasma concentrations reach a peak one hour after it is consumed. It is then slowly metabolized, with a half-life of four to six hours.
Caffeine has been shown to dramatically increase free fatty-acid levels, providing the body with a fuel source that it can use instead of the glycogen stored in your liver and muscles. In fact, one (not related to Nutrex Lipo-6) study found a 100% increase in plasma free fatty acids after the subjects took 330 mg of caffeine.
At the same time, caffeine has been shown to increase adrenaline levels. This "fight-or-flight" hormone increases alertness and boosts energy levels, helping you to go through your daily tasks with less food intake. Most people experience a reduced appetite when their adrenaline levels are high, usually because they are focused on more essential tasks. With these two mechanisms, it's easy to understand why caffeine is used in Nutrex Lipo-6, and is important for jump-starting your weight-loss efforts.
Yohimbine HCL
Yohimbine is an alpha-adrenoceptor blocker that has been used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It is also used as an ingredient in a multitude of weight-loss and fitness products such as Nutrex Lipo-6, either being injested with a supplement, or as a topical product, designed to penetrate the skin and initiate 'spot-action'.
In order to understand the Yohimbine mechanism od action, one must forst understand what is norepinephrine, and how it works. Norepinephrine is a hormone secreted by the medulla of the adrenal glands, that acts as a neurotransmitter. The sympathetic nervous system functions in response to short-term stress; hence norepinephrine increases the heart rate as well as blood pressure. All of these actions represent a mobilization of the body's resources in order to meet the stressful challenge; such a response is often termed the 'flight or fight' syndrome, and can be used to facilitate weight loss
Yohimbine is a selective alpha 2 antagonist and can saturate the alpha 2 receptors, cancelling the norepinephrine production-stop that they will initiate upon binding with n repinephrine, thus short circuit this feedback loop, maximizing NE levels, thus maximizing fat loss, particularly in these problem areas -- and even more so if we can achieve high levels of yohimbine and NE in the adipose tissue. Unfortunately, to do so with orals, or any other method that results in high blood levels means that we will also have high levels in the heart and CNS -- thus, we will also have unpleasant and dangerous side effects. Considering the subject of this article, I obviously believe the solution lies in transdermal administration, but more on that in a bit.
Coleus forskohlii
Coleus forskohlii, used in Nutrex Lipo-6, is a plant that is part of the mint family. Native to the subtropical regions of India, Myanmar and Thailand, it is a spice and medicinal herb with a long history of usage in Ayurvedic medicine. The root of the plant contains the highest levels of the active ingredient, forskolin. Forskolin is a potent activator of the enzyme adenylate cyclase, which activates cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) in the cell. Through a multi-step process, this increases the concentration of the active form of hormone-sensitive lipase, resulting in a greater release of fatty acids from the body's adipose tissues. Forskolin also has a thyroid-stimulating action, which contributes to thermogenesis and an increase in the basal metabolic rate. These properties allow it to enhance the effects of the ephedrine/caffeine combination that Nutrex Lipo-6 uses.
The breakdown of fat for fuel (lipolysis) is actually regulated by cAMP. Forskolin has been shown to not only enhance lipolysis but it may also inhibit fat storage from occurring. This is very good news for individuals trying to lose bodyfat and get lean. Another way that forskolin may allow for fat loss to occur is by stimulating thyroid hormone production and release. Thyroid hormone controls metabolism and can enhance metabolic rate, which may translate into more fat loss.
Bioperine
Bioperine, used in Nutrex Lipo-6, is a patented extract of Piper nigrum L. (black pepper) and/or Piper longum L. (long pepper) berries cultivated in India.
Bioperine appears to enhance the bioavailibility of certain supplements through enhanced absorption - ie making it easier for the body to absorb the needed vitamins, minerals, or other substances that it needs. It might be called a form of a supplement apsorption catalyst. For exactly this reason, bioperine is a thermogenic enhancer, enabling thermogenic substances to do their job more efficiently and quickly, and is thus found in a number of thermogenic weight-loss drugs.
