Triphasil Side Effects

You may experience the following Triphasil side effects:

Nausea and Vomiting

About half of the women who take ECPs such as Triphasil experience temporary nausea. It is usually mild and stops within a few hours, but may continue for up to 1 or 2 days. About 20% of women who take ECPs such as Triphasil may vomit. If you vomit within one hour after taking either dose of ECPs, call your healthcare professional to discuss whether to repeat the dose or to take antinausea medicine.

Menstrual Cycle Disturbances

It has been reported that following ECP use, about 75% of women experience a normal period on time. However, irregular vaginal bleeding or spotting may occur after taking Triphasil. Such patterns of bleeding may be temporary and usually do not indicate any serious problems. Menstrual bleeding may begin a few days earlier or later than would have been expected. Your menstrual wflow may be heavier or lighter than usual. If the bleeding lasts longer than your normal period or if bleeding does not start within 21 days after treatment, talk to your healthcare professional.

Breast Tenderness

Breast tenderness occurs in approximately 10% to 20% of women studied while taking Triphasil regimen.

Headaches

Headaches occur in up to 10% of women studied while taking the Triphasil regimen.

Abdominal Pain

Abdominal/pelvic pain occurs in approximately 1% of women taking the ECP regimen.

Dizziness

Dizziness is occasionally reported.

Triphasil side effects usually subside within a day or two after treatment is completed.

You may experience additional Triphasil side effects.
